2 lbs (900g) chicken wings, split into drumettes and flats
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp garlic powder (optional for extra flavor)
- For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
1/4 cup honey
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
Chopped green onions (optional for garnish)
Directions
- Preheat the Oven:
Heat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and place a wire rack on top for even crisping. - Season the Wings:
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels — this helps them crisp up. Toss the wings with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using. - Bake the Wings:
Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. - Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
While the wings bake, melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute). Stir in honey and soy sauce, and simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. - Toss the Wings:
Once the wings are done, remove them from the oven and toss them in the warm honey garlic sauce until fully coated. - Garnish and Serve:
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired. Serve immediately while they’re warm and sticky!
