Ingredients
2 large russet potatoes, peeled and grated
1 tbsp butter
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt & pepper to taste
Directions
- Peel and Grate the Potatoes
Peel the russet potatoes.
Use a grater to shred them into fine pieces. - Remove Excess Moisture
Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth.
Squeeze out as much liquid as possible—this helps them crisp up. - Season the Potatoes
Transfer the grated potatoes to a bowl.
Add salt and pepper to taste. - Heat Oil and Butter
In a skillet, heat 1 tbsp butter and 2 tbsp vegetable oil over medium heat. - Cook the Hash Browns
Spread the grated potatoes evenly in the skillet, pressing them down slightly.
Cook for 4-5 minutes without moving, until the bottom is golden brown. - Flip and Cook the Other Side
Carefully flip the hash browns using a spatula.
Cook for another 4-5 minutes until crispy and golden. - Serve and Enjoy
Remove from the skillet and drain on a paper towel.
Serve hot with your favorite sauce or toppings.
